March 1, 1997 -- Yep...Hofstra lost the America East Tournament. Kinda depressing because it means a few depressing things:
1)No more basketball...(and I just got used to it too!!!)
    2)No more road trips....
3)No more staying at that AWESOME Hilton we got to stay in last night!!!

Yeah, I guess that's the one that bugs me the most. I mean...no road trips sucks....a lot.....but I will carry on. But that Hilton kicked my ass off the bed, out the door, down the hallway, all the way ACROSS the parking lot, and into the Marriot next door.

Okay...exaggeration. What can I say....it's a talent!

The Hilton rocked....free shoe mitt (as if I'd ever need such a thing....), little mints, and a little coffee maker in the bathroom. Jess and I liked that....we made coffee just for the heck of it. I thought it came out too weak, she said it was fine, but neither one of us really had the full cup of the stuff. And the BEST part? John's reaction to our room compared to his.

John is the director....you should know that. Anywho...we walked with him to his room, because it was on the way to ours (Jess and I managed to get just the two of us in a room.....mascot free!!!) but John gets his own PRIVATE room because he's the director and that makes him all SPECIAL or something! ;) But the big deal was....John got a potted plant in his room. He got a big head about it too...because it was a REAL plant. Woo-hoo. Jess and I got to our room and found out we had a glass door which connected to the courtyard....with a view of the pool, gazebo, and the cheerleader guys across the way (kidding!!). In fact...the rest of the lowly pep band members had the same view too!!! We could all get to each other's rooms through it. John had a great view of the parking lot. ;) Have fun with that potted plant, dude!!!

The trip rocked even though we lost and had to go home with only one night in that cool hotel. We all went out walking...well, not all of us. there were 12 Pep Band people on the trip. Jess, John, John C., Jeff, Mike S., Ken, Kevin, Brian, Crystal, Christina, and Diane. But Mike, and the last three chicks stayed at the hotel while the rest of us went out roaming the town. We went to Chi-Chi's, ate salsa and chips, and went back to the hotel. Man, we are such party animals.... ;) Some of us ended up staying up watching Interview with the Vampire. We DID go to sleep though....John had a practice at 9:30 am the next day. Then we couldn't get breakfast at the hotel restaurant, the Brassiere (no joke, that's really what it was called!) because of the line. So we piled on the bus, got over to Shoney's and had ourselves some grits and eggs!!!

( Why is everything past New Jersey southern? With grits and country music? Have I been spoiled by New York?)

Hmmmm....the game? The Delaware Pep Band whooped our asses. They were nice people too. They let us play, then actually cheered for us! It felt good. We knew they were better, they knew they were better, but they still let us have our chance. We complimented them after the game, and the game itself was tons of fun. We lost, but who cares? Isn't the point to have fun?

Besides all of that, the rest of life is good too. Brian (Knoler, Bunghole, BOYFRIEND! As you should know from my friends page!) is coming to visit this next weekend, I'm catching up on school work, my back feels SO much better, and the weather has been gorgeous. And the scanner is cool too....that picture page is half done. There's a lot of school work I should be doing rather than writing pages, but that only means it'll probably be done soon.
