October 3, 1997 -- I learned an important life lesson today.... Reconsider Trust Don't misunderstand this. I'm not saying don't trust people. I'm only saying that trust is a very good thing and you should be certain you aren't giving it to very bad people. Trust is good. Ask yourself why you SHOULD trust someone, as opposed to why you shouldn't. Now that I'm done being philosophical and giving my advice on life and other crap no one listens to anyway...wait. No, I'm not angry. Who was that? I went with Brian to the Carousel Mall in Syracuse today. They have the same things as every mall, except they have a carousel in the middle of the mall. Could you guess? Anyway...I went into The Nature Company (I like that store.) and played with some toys and looked at the vast cabinets of "stuff" they have. I found bubbles. But not ORDINARY bubbles...nay, they wouldn't be selling ORDINARY bubbles. These were part of their aromatheraphy section. That's Smelly theraphy for the confused....every smell is supposed to calm or excite a part of you or your brain in some odd unique way that no other smell does. I think it's a crock, and cinnimon doesn't make me any more cheerful or energetic than does peaches-and-cream or nailpolish remover. But they had Happy Bubbles. Bubbles that make you happy. They smelled like oranges. I sneezed. I thought the package was cute and I recalled that I had no bubbles up here so I turned the bottle around to see the price. $9. I started laughing. Sure I was happy. That was a good joke. $9 for bubbles that smell like oranges? What sales guy was on smack when he came up with THAT one? The regular 59-cent bubbles work fine for me, thanks. I'll have bubbles and a glass of orange juice for the same effect.
