March 25, 1998 -- Is it my imagination or has the whole world become lactose intolerant? My mom got it first, then my sister started complaining, and the one time in my life I got gas and asked my mom where the gas medicine was, she said "Oh, you must be lactose intolerant too. Try to stay away from milk." Egads! No milk? That means no ice cream shakes, no tall frosty glasses filled to the rim with chocolate-tinted cow juice, no cheesecake? No way. I'm not lactose intolerant. In fact, right before break I had a half-gallon of milk that was just DYING to go bad over break, so I drank 5 glasses of milk in a row. 40 ounces with no ill side effects. Hah!!!
But anyway, having proved myself as lactose TOLERANT, I buy lots of milk and drink most of it lately. I am proud. Moving on...I still have scads of work to do, and some of it is done! Other parts are mostly done, I'm simply waiting for Brian to scan over a program which has been frustrating me to help find the problem I keep missing. Scene: Young college student sitting at her computer staring blankly at the screen. The program is Visual C++ and her project is due tomorrow.Welcome to my nightmare; The Error Which Could Not Be Fixed. As a side note, it turned out to be something moronic and silly, but I was so frustrated that the simple solution eluded me. Thank you, Brian. I'm glad that at the least I learn from my mistakes and seldom make the dumb ones more than once. I should be finishing my program right now. It's so close to being done that I can almost feel my bed. In fact I may just feel my bed right now and finish in the morning before all my classes...not too hard considering my first class is a 2:50. Oh, get this...my writing class (the one at 2:50 tomorrow) is going to be meeting in the Campus Pub. Having a grad student as a teacher TOTALLY rules. She's only a few years older than most of the class, and she understands the ennui that accompanies the second half of a semester. That's probably one of the reasons I love that class so much! So...is anyone else happy they're re-releasing Grease? I just got the soundtrack (finally!) and I've been listening to it. I haven't seen Grease since I was in 3rd grade at a sleepover, but I can't wait. Chang-chang, changadee-chang-chibop, that's the way it should be, wahoo, yeah... |
