"Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?"

Yeah!!! Horde Fest ruled!!!
So, this morning I felt really sick and my throat was killing me. I considered not going. Then Darryl called me and said he lost the tickets. I was saying "What" is JAPANESE before I realized what was going on. "Nani?" I watch too much Ranma 1/2. Much too much.
But the point was, Darryl's mommy moved the tickets from the safe spot they were in and they became free and happy. They left. So Darryl briefly spazzed out then called TicketMaster. The vile sons of bitches actually helped for once and we got to get brand spankin' new tickets. Yaaaay.
So, we go to Jones Beach, almost managed to smuggle in two bottles filled to the brim with....WATER!, and they sent us back to our cars to drop those suckers off. So close.... So I had to buy their threedollarsandfiftycentsplusanytaxestheyfeltlike bottled water. I was mad as hell so I drank it all real quick and filled that bottle back up six times in the course of the day. Six times freakin' Jones Beach pay-for-your-water-like-a-good-girl BASTARDS!!!
Take that, capitalist pigs.
But the concert ruled. I got to see Conehead Buddha, a band which plays upstate quite frequently but I never went to see them because I'm a real party animal and I like to spent my friday nights drinkin' (Pepsi) and boogin' (with my N64 buddies). But now I shall see them at any and every chance because they rule. RULE, I TELL YOU! RULE!!!
I'm better. I also saw Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals (not my groove thang, baby), Alana Davis (I endured), Paula Cole (Gagh.), and Catatonia (Kill me, kill me now). I missed seeing Rene Lopez, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, and Gov't Mule. I wasn't too heartbroken.
I loved Blues Traveler, they were the big thing. It was dark and they did cool light stuff and they played a lot of cool stuff and had guest singer Paula Cole strut out onto the stage to cheers of "Shave your pits!". I thought that rude, but kept quiet and applauded that the end of her song, not only because it wasn't half bad, but also because it WAS half bad and I was glad she was done.
But my favorite part of the night would have to be Barenaked Ladies. No matter what kind of music you like, if you can see Barenaked Ladies in concert do so and you will be pleased. They are so funny. They did mime stuff. "A mime, finding a dime, cutting a lime, and checking the time." They talked about swimming at the beach. The one guy said "And when I put my hand down and grabbed something my first though was 'Oh, I must have dropped my raw chicken breast again'." The other guy responded with "You're always losing that thing!" It was a jellyfish. They were very very funny. They ended their set with a medley which they all sang and danced to. Starting with Milli Vanilli, the Spice Girls, and M.C. Hammer, and ending with a game of "Near and Far" (pleasegodletpeopleknowitsfromsesamestreet!).
It ruled, I tell you, RULED!!!
And I got a tie-dyed shirt that says "Horde Fest 1998".
