I turned 21 yesterday. My birthday was April 18th.
I can legally drink now. I can legally buy my own liquor.
I'm not hung over today. I really didn't drink all that much last night. But I had fun Saturday.
Jos and Kevin (her man) drove down from Oswego to spend the weekend with me. Since I wasn't going to be 21 until Sunday, and liquor stores are closed on Sunday, they bought the liquor for my party. It wasn't going to be a BIG party...just a few friends. But we had 7 or 8 bottles of liquor. We didn't FINISH all that liquor, but it looked so impressive sitting on the counter that we couldn't wait until Sunday....we drank on Saturday.
Jos and I got reasonably drunk, Jeremy played bartender (which was impressive because he was drunk too), and Kevin got drunk. He insisted we all have a shot of rum. I managed to not cough my head off, but it was icky. I'll stick to girly drinks.
And we finally settled on what a 'girly drink' is. Anything that tastes GOOD. :P
Friday night, Kristen and I went out and I picked up a bartending book. I wanted to know how to make drinks with cool names. Anti-Freeze, Sex on the Beach, and Orgasm.
I had an orgasm. It was great. ;) It's got amaretto and a bunch of other stuff, and cream. It was tasty, but I still like Kahlua better. Mmmmmm...Mudslides. Whoa...I just said I like mudslides better than orgasms. That just SOUNDS wrong.
I am one year closer to my goal of 'crazy old lady'. I'm going to sit around and tell my eleven grandkids about the days when you had to touch the computer to make it do anything. I'm going to paint my flower pots funky colors (even though I'll probably be just as efficient at killing my plants).
The party was smaller on Sunday, and we all drank less, but it was fun anyway. Jeremy got me flowers! I put them next to the flower cake my parents sent me...it's flowers in the shape of a cake, with candles stuck in it. I was amused.
The roses are prettier.
In case you're wondering, the pictures are the cards I got from people. The first one (with the playing card) is from Joslyn. It has a horoscope kind of message with stuff like "A positve attitude will go a long way in aiding you through disappointments." The second one is from Jeremy...The part at the bottom was the inside message. I think it's readable.
The last one was from Scott and Stone, and was such a huge file I made it mostly unreadable, but it's the "Top 10 Ways to Make Your Birthday Last:"
10 -- When no one is looking, turn the clock back.
9 -- Keep shouting "One more time!" after everyone sings the birthday song.
8 -- Eat your ice cream with chopsticks.
7 -- Open your presents with your toes.
6 -- Play musical chairs but don't ever stop the music
5 -- Wash your fork after each bite of cake
4 -- Two Words: Trick Candles
3 -- Don't let anyone leave until they guess your wish.
2 -- Don't let anyone leave until they grant your wish.
And the number one way to make your birthday last is...,
1 -- The next day, fake amnesia and tell everyone they have to do it all over again!
(Have a good one...or two...or three...)
I think the best way to make your birthday last is drink too much and be really hung over....then at least it FEELS like forever. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
