Does anyone know of an effective, non-drowsy treatment for Senior-itis?
21 days....that's how much longer I'm a college student. 21 days until I'm a certified, boni-fide college graduate. 21 days until I matriculate out of Binghamton and back to Long Island. Only 8 more days of classes, and three finals. That works out to 14 classes. 4 Programming Languages, 4 Neural Networks, 4 Design Patterns, and 2 Software engineering.
Not that I'm counting...not that I'm tired of college, and school in general, and while I loved it all I'll be glad when it's over.
And anyone who misses college enough to want to go back probably has a shitty job. I do not plan to have a shitty job, but should I end up with one, college is NOT where I'd want to be instead. I would want a better job.
Don't get me wrong, college is fine. But I imagine any more than four years would drive me beyond what I can take from school. I've been in school since I was THREE. Enough is enough.
And let me tell you, of you were tired of people saying "But it's not even the new millennium, that's not until 2001", you know exactly how I feel about the "You'll wish you were back in college when...". People wo do that are like those idiot mothers that tell their labor horror stories to pregnant women. Why do you do it, you sick little sadists?? Not everyone is unlucky enough to have a horror story. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. Seriously, get over it. I think misery is self-fulfilling...if you expect it to come you certainly won't be disappointed.
I'm going to miss college from time to time, I'm sure. But I'm certainly not going to wish I was back here. I got an education in order to move on in life. I know some people see college as the best years of their lives, but they're probably the ones who went out to parties every weekend, unlike me who went out once in a while and spent the rest of her time getting slammed with homework, tests, programs, study sessions, group projects and a fucked up sleep schedule. I'm going to remember being TIRED. I haven't been to many parties, but I have a lot of work to do.
Most of my three years in Binghamton has been spent in front of a computer. But as a CS major, I was expecting that, and I'm not disappointed with college.
But I'm glad I only have another 21 days until I'm out of here for good.
Good things about getting the hell out of here:
I'll be damned if I need any other reasons.
